WHEN GOD BECOMES OUR STRENGTH

“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.” — Isaiah 12:2

Silhouette Of Cross

We cannot sustain ministry through talent alone.

In WAM, we use our voices, music, creativity, technology, communication, leadership, and many other gifts to serve God. These gifts are valuable, but they were never meant to become our source of strength.

Isaiah makes a powerful declaration:

“The LORD himself is my strength.”

Not my experience.
Not my talent.
Not my team.
Not my creativity.

God Himself is my strength.

We can become so focused on serving that we forget to depend on the One we are serving. We rehearse, create, organize, edit, solve problems, arrive early, and leave late. Over time, we can continue serving outwardly while becoming empty inwardly. God does not simply call us to do more. He calls us to depend more. Our gifts are instruments. God is the source.

When we trust Him, we don't have to be controlled by the fear of failure, criticism, pressure, or not being good enough. We can serve faithfully because our identity and strength are found in Christ—not in our performance. Before you lead, create, sing, play, design, edit, or serve—return to the Source.

God Himself is your strength!

Prayer:

Lord, You are my strength and my source.

I surrender my gifts, abilities, creativity, plans, and expectations to You.

Forgive me when I depend on my talent more than I depend on You.

When I am tired, strengthen me.

When I am afraid, remind me that You are with me.

When I face criticism, help me remember that my identity is found in Christ.

Teach me to serve from dependence, not from pressure.

May everything I do flow from You and bring glory to You.

Amen.
