Rest for the weary
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)

In Worship Arts Media ministry, there are many moments people never see.
-
The early preparation.
-
The rehearsals.
-
The pressure before service starts.
-
The sound checks, camera setups, lighting cues, presentation slides, livestream troubleshooting, and countless details behind the scenes.
Many times, we carry more than equipment—we carry expectations, responsibility, stress, and emotional exhaustion.
Jesus understands that kind of weariness.
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus does not say, “Come to Me when you are strong,” or “Come to Me when everything is perfect.”
He simply says: “Come to Me.” This invitation is deeply personal. Before we are musicians, singers, camera operators, editors, designers, or technicians, we are first His children. God never intended ministry to become a burden that pulls us away from His presence. Ministry flows best when it flows from intimacy with Him. Sometimes in serving, we become so focused on preparing for God that we forget to spend time with God.We can become physically present in ministry while spiritually exhausted inside. But Jesus lovingly reminds us that true rest is not found in taking a break from serving alone—it is found in coming back to Him.
As a Worship Arts Media team, we ought learn that:
-
God values our hearts more than our performance.
-
His presence matters more than perfection.
-
Rest is part of worship.
-
Serving God should flow from being with God.
When we spend time in His presence, He renews our strength, refreshes our spirit, and reminds us why we serve in the first place—not for applause, recognition, or achievement, but because we love Him. Today, before focusing on the next task, rehearsal, or production, take a moment to simply come to Jesus again.
Lay down the pressure.
Lay down the stress.
Lay down the tiredness.
And allow Him to give you rest.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for inviting us to come to You with every burden and every weariness. Forgive us for the times we have allowed ministry pressure to replace intimacy with You. Refresh our hearts and renew our strength as we serve. Help our Worship Arts Media team to serve with joy, unity, humility, and peace. May everything we do point people not to ourselves, but to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
